Guide to Speakers

Once your paper or workshop proposal has been accepted, a time slot will be arranged for your planned session.

We have thus created this page to serve as a good interface with you as we all prepare for the 23rd Annual Conference of the International Organisation Development Association (IODA) in Accra, Ghana from July 27-27, 2008. The theme for the conference - "Growing Together in Partnership" - is very reflective of the affirmed interest of IODA to further consolidate its social cohesion, commonness of purpose to create new thinking to improve governance and growth of nations, businesses and individual through new paradigm shifts in this fast changing world.

Speaker Management

An officer would be dedicated to Speaker Management duties who's primary responsibility would be to ensure that all materials and equipment are ready on a timely basis in all session rooms to facilitate uninterrupted sessions.

All sessions including question time will be one-hour in length. To provide flexibility and to allow optimal knowledge share, the Secretariat will, in exceptional cases, approve requests for additional time in blocks of 15 minutes for particular sessions. Speakers, Presenters and individuals with unique requests as well as those whose request for additional time as part of their proposals have been approved by the Secretariat would also need to liase with the speaker management officer.

Equipment Requirements

LCD projectors connected to PC's on the conference centre's networks, whiteboards & flipcharts will be available in all operating conference session rooms. Except in exceptional circumstances, all presentations would be pre-loaded on the conference servers and projected directly into the relevant session rooms.

If you require additional equipment or resources, please contact the Secretariat prior to the Conference, if you did not do so with your speaker proposal.

If you wish to bring your own specialised equipment to enhance the learning experience of conference participants (check equipment voltage requirements on our website), please let us have the information ahead of the conference by providing details of the said equipment.

Preparing Your Papers for Delivery

Except in exceptional circumstances, all presentations would be pre-loaded on the conference servers and projected directly into the relevant session rooms.

The Conference Schedule and Speaker Time Slots

The planned speaker time slots are as shown below. The actual scheduling of sessions would be the responsibility of the Conference Secretariat, taking into account the subject matter, length of time requested, and such other factors as may be necessary for the Secretariat to consider.
